On Saturday 30th January WWF South Pacific launched its 2010 Earth Hour campaign to crowds at Sukuna Park in Suva town centre. This year’s campaign is being run under the title – Going Beyond the Hour – as it hopes to emphasis that Earth Hour is not just about switching off your lights for one hour. Earth Hour 2010 aims to encourage people to think about the way they use fossil fuels, whether this be in the form of petrol for cars, eating imported foods, leaving air-conditioning on when leaving the house, or simply by not turning TVs off at the switch when their not in use. All of these things harm our environment and are easily avoidable.
